The Emmanuel Church Family Fair, featuring food, entertainment and bargains, will be held on Saturday, Sept. 17, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., on the parish grounds at 285 Lyons Plain Road. The fair will take place rain or shine, and admission is free.

This marks the fair’s 110th anniversary, and it has a lot to offer. Entertainment will be provided by St. Luke’s Steel Band. Traditional carnival food will be available. For kids, there will be pony rides, face painting, games, and a special story time from 10:30 to 11:30.

Various booths will feature items for sale, including toys, collectibles, furniture, jewelry, baked goods, art and autumn plants. A silent auction will have gift baskets available as well as Mets tickets, a round of golf and lunch, a YMCA birthday party, and original artwork.

Home bakers of all ages are invited to enter the “Best Chocolate Chip Cookie in Connecticut” contest. Bring one dozen, homemade chocolate chip cookies, a list of ingredients (required for entry) and your name and contact information to the contest table by noon, the day of the fair. Guidelines can be found on emmanuelweston.org.
