Two Bridgeport men and a juvenile with criminal backgrounds face charges in connection with an attempted burglary yesterday in Weston.

The three arrested were Francis Tarik, 18, of Platt Street in Bridgeport; Leequaje Jackson, 20, of Manhattan Ave. in Bridgeport; and a 16-year-old juvenile (name withheld because he is under 18).

They were charged with home invasion, burglary 3rd degree, and larceny 3rd degree.

The incident leading to the arrests was described in a statement issued today by the Weston Police Department. According to police, dispatch received a 9-1-1 call on Wednesday, Sept. 28,  from a resident on Hidden Spring Drive. The homeowner reported he was met by three men inside his house. He said the suspects then fled on foot traveling west in the area of Singing Oaks Drive.

The homeowner was able to successfully provide a description of the suspects. Weston police officers responded to the scene and an immediate call for assistance was dispatched. Officers from the Wilton, Redding, Westport, Easton and Fairfield Police Departments arrived in the area within minutes and the area was surrounded.

Two of the suspects were spotted in a wooded area near Newtown Turnpike and Grindstone Hill Road and a foot pursuit ensued. The two men were subsequently apprehended by the officers on Ladder Hill Road North.

A third suspect was spotted in the woods behind a house on Singing Oaks Drive and responding officers chased the suspects through the woods where he was also apprehended.

A stolen car was also recovered at the scene and believed to have been used by the suspects. The Connecticut State Police Major Crime Unit was called to the scene to assist the Weston Investigators process the crime scene.

Police say Leequaje Jackson was arrested in April 2015 by Bridgeport police for robbery, reckless endangerment, carrying dangerous weapons, and carrying a pistol without a permit, and Francis Tarik was arrested earlier this month by Bridgeport police on the charge of 2nd degree. The juvenile also has a history of committing crimes, according to police.

Following his arrest, the juvenile was transported to Juvenile Detention in Bridgeport. Tarik and Jackson were transported to the Weston Police Department and are being held on a $150,000 bond.

They are scheduled to be arraigned in Norwalk Superior Court this morning.
